*from Milan: take “tangenziale Est”, Venice direction till the tool booth, take EXIT Vimercate-Lecco, go on till the end of the beltway, go past five roundabouts, go past two traffic-lights, go past one roundabouts, at the next roundabouts turn right, at the stop line turn left, go on for about 500 mt and CASA SOFIA is on your left inside the courtyard.
*from Bergamo: Highway A4 Milan direction, Capriate EXIT, follow to Calusco d’Adda, then Paderno d’Adda then Merate.
*from Lecco: Strada Statale, Milan direction, follow to Airuno then Calco then Merate.
*from Como: Statale Bergamo direction, follow and arrive to Calco, turn right at the roundabouts, follow Merate direction.
By train:
*From Centrale Railway Station or Porta Garibaldi Railway station: several trains direction Lecco-Sondrio. Get off at Cernusco-Merate. Transfer from and to Casa Sofia on request

Merate is a town very close to Parco del Curone and, on its hilltop, is Montevecchia from where you can have a breathtaking view.
The town is also economically important due to many companies around but it is still a countryside town with its “Lago di Sartirana”, a natural reserve, or its public or private parks around ancient villas.
The tower, in the main pedestrian square, Piazza Prinetti, is its symbol.
Within reach there is the Adda river and along its shore you can walk or cycling looking at the beautiful landscape or admiring the river ferry boat whose original project is supposed to be a Leonardo Da Vinci’s.
